Bolivia & Peru

We arrived this morning safely in La Paz - monged likeanything after 26 hrs of travelling (9hrs to Miami, 8hrs in Miami, then 7 hrs to La Paz). The day in Miami Beach yesterday was awesome - 30degrees, nice long beach and cool Art-Deco buildings. Got a free show on the beach, which was rather unexpected. A girl sitting a few metres infront of us decided to give her boyfriend a blowjob whilst he was sitting on a deck chair, drinking a Bud,in full view...

The flight into La Paz was cool - amazing scenery flying over the Andes, with snow capped peaks. The airport really was high up - only just below the clouds and we hardly descended at all in last last 15mins before landing. Today we are adjusting to the altitude. La Paz is amazing - there are practically no tourists and the people dress in amazing traditional outfits. The women wear bowler hats bizarrely enough with brightly coloured shawls which make their waist almost as big as their height.

After leaving La Paz, we went on a 64km mountain bike trip down the Worlds Most Dangerous Road (about 200 people die every year driving off it). The journey is down the side of the Andes, starting at 5000m high and ending at 1000m and has awesome scenery. Almost all of it is down hill, although it is still very knackering. It ends in lush rainforest in a village on the side of a mountain with incredibleviews. Then we headed to the biggest salt lake in the world, which feels like you´re on another planet - 12,000 sqkm of lake, all pure white. We´ve just got back from a 4 day tour. Am feeling quite rough today - had some dodgy food yesterday. It was a bad place to be ill -having to get up in the middle of the night to use the toilet in a village where there is no electricity or running water...

The 4 day tour started quite ominously when our driver ran over two policemen on a motorbike, 5 mins after setting off. Luckily they were not badly hurt, but we had to take one of the policemen to the hospital. This was in a small town with about 10 cars... Quite unfortunate to have an accident and even more unfortunate for it to be with two policemen! Getting a train tonight and heading to Lake Titicaca(highest lake in the world).
